Een beetje een domme vraag maar is het nog steeds de bedoeling dat we vanaf deze zomer kunnen genieten van de Jedi Acedemy ?

Enkel rond Frozen Komen er berichtjes .
Binnen een paar weken kom ik toch weer in DLP dan zal ik eens luisteren wat ze daar te zeggen hebben.
Ben nu niet zo ne grote star wars fan . Maar als character hunter ben ik wel eens benieuwd naar de characters die ze gebruiken.

Six months of works to renovate Videopolis and Café Hyperion



Disneyland® Paris has recently announced the upcoming arrival of Jedi Training Academy, a new interactive show. To be ready for it, the theatre at Videopolis, which will host the show as of 11 July, is undergoing a unique refurbishment from head to toe, i.e. from lighting to accessibility. And if you push the doors you will note the whole complex located in Discoveryland – including Café Hyperion and its entrance, over which hangs the historical airship –is also being renewed. François Gamas, Senior Manager at the Construction and Engineering Department updates us on the operation.



Hyperion, the 22 metre-long airship inspired from the Disney movie The Island on Top of the World,is one of the symbols of Discoveryland. For a long time it was the largest animated showpiece in the Disney parks. Just a few days ago the airship was once again unveiled, its bright colours gleaming through the scaffolding. By July, Hyperion will look brand new and restored to its original grandeur.



This icon for all guests alone, gives us an idea of the ambitious works to be carried out in the complex, which includes the restaurant, Café Hyperion (the largest counter-service restaurant in the park), the theatre area of Videopolis and the surrounding show areas in the Land. At this mid-point in the work, François Gamas, in charge of the construction site, gives us a tour.

The first thing one notices, as with the airship, are the warm colours used to repaint all the façades. Studies for new canopy for the entrance of the future show are being made. The checkerboard floor will be redone and the large marble compass renovated. “The goal is to give this iconic entrance that symbolises the main entrance to the restaurant, a new treatment,” François confides. On either side of the entrance, terraces will be adapted for persons with a disability.

This special care given to accessibility can also be seen inside the theatre. The major change in the viewing area is the creation of two areas reserved for wheelchairs, from which guests will have a perfect view of the stage. The stage itself will also have easier access for persons with a disability, thanks to a corridor and a newly developed ramp that runs through a former backstage area. Last but not least, in the adjoining restaurant, there will be special cash registers at wheelchair height. As for the restaurant, the kitchen renovation programme continues with Café Hyperion. The Food & Beverage teams will be able to work with increased safety and brand new equipment.


“This is a major renovation. As the whole building is currently closed to guests, we have been able to carry out a series of improvements that the guest will not notice at first glance, but which will contribute to his comfort and the quality of his experience. The restaurant area floors, for example, have been relaid in non-slip resin, which does not absorb liquids and will last longer,” François Gamas adds. But that is not all, since the teams are already working on further improvements in the area. Consequently, all the spotlights should be replaced by LED technology in a near future. Remember, on 11 July we will re-discover this new, shining complex!

Ik zelf hoop op een goede show ter vervanging van de shows die we dit jaar niet gaan hebben in het Chapparal Theater

Voor alsnog, komt er helemaal niets.

Dat is dan een karige boel, niks in Videopolis, niks in Chapparal, Mickey & The Magician gestopt tot 31 maart, Cinemagique dicht tot in juni de Marvel-stuntshow komt, Discoveryland-theater ook leeg (5 minuten kijken naar oude Star Wars-beelden bij Path of the Jedi).
Echt een gemiste kans dat ze de Jedi Academy niet in het Videpolis-theatre programmeren tijdens Season of the Force.
Ik weet dat het laagseizoen is, maar niks is toch fijner dan een indoorshow bijwonen tijdens de koude wintermaanden.
