MasterCard signs multi-year corporate alliance agreement with Disney across Europe,
Middle East, Africa, Russia and CIS

London and Paris, 11 January 2011 – The Walt Disney Company, Euro Disney Associés S.C.A. and
MasterCard announced today a six-year strategic corporate alliance across Europe, Middle East, Africa,
Russia & CIS.

The agreements make MasterCard the official partner in the payment services category of The Walt Disney
Company EMEA & Russia and of Euro Disney Associés C.S.A.. As a result, this provides MasterCard with
opportunities to create and deliver unique promotional opportunities for its cardholders across the breadth
of Disney including motion pictures and the more than 100 Disney Stores across the region and in
Disneyland Paris, Europe’s number one tourist destination.

This is the first pan-European family entertainment sponsorship platform for MasterCard, a recognised
sponsor of such sports as Football and Golf. Underscored by MasterCard’s priceless marketing philosophy,
this new marketing asset is designed to speak specifically to MasterCard’s cardholder. “As generations of
consumers can testify, the very enchantment of Disney is priceless”, said Javier Perez, President of
MasterCard Europe. “To come together with such a valued partner for the benefit of our cardholders is true
marketing magic.”

Philippe Gas, CEO Euro Disney Associés S.C.A..: “As companies, we share a commitment to service,
technological innovation, and magical experiences for our Guests. Disneyland Paris creates live family
entertainment and Disney memories that last a lifetime and we look forward to finding additional ways to
do the same for more than 500 million MasterCard and Maestro cardholders across the region.”
The agreement, which covers business-to-consumer and business-to-business initiatives provides the scope
for considerable consumer benefits, which will include special advantages and discounts for all MasterCard
cardholders.

The partnership will also develop:
New “Priceless” MasterCard cardholder experiences, including Disney Store shopping events and
offers as well as Disneyland Paris events and hospitality benefits
• Opportunities for innovative payment solutions to support consumers at both Disneyland Paris and
for in-store purchases in Disney stores
• Opportunities for MasterCard to secure further marketing and promotional opportunities across
Disney’s branded businesses, providing unique business building opportunities for MasterCard
customers
• The chance for Disney to develop promotional programs to reach MasterCard’s customer-base
across the region and to leverage MasterCard’s payment services technology expertise
• Permanent MasterCard signage at Disneyland Paris and Disney Stores in the region, underlining
the importance of the partnership with MasterCard.

Javier Perez, President, MasterCard Europe said: “I’m excited that we are going to work so closely with
Disney. We know that the magic that Disney provides will create numerous priceless opportunities for all
our cardholders including families with young children, the larger youth segment, our corporate customers
and our own employees. This new partnership fits seamlessly within our existing strategy in which our
sponsorship activities, be it sports sponsorship through to entertainment, should always aim to deliver a
rewarding experience for today’s cardholder.”

Diego Lerner, president, The Walt Disney Company EMEA said: “With this alliance, MasterCard will
benefit from Disney’s one of a kind expertise in family entertainment enabling them to reach this important
audience in a fun, new way. We are thrilled to have a company such as MasterCard join our family of
corporate alliance partners.”

Het nieuwe partnership tussen Disney en Mastercard is al te zien bij het aankomen aan de parking. Alle vroegere verwijzingen naar Visa zijn verdwenen.

Italian firm Segafredo Zanetti replaces Nescafé as official Disneyland Paris coffee partner.

Turn over the latest Guide to the Parks leaflet, updated for the Magical Moments Festival, and there’s a surprise to be found amongst the resort’s Official Partners: Nescafé is no longer the coffee brand of choice for Disneyland Paris! The instant coffee brand owned by Nestlé has been superseded by Italian brand Segafredo Zanetti. Part of the Bologna-based Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group, which sells 120,000 tons of coffee worldwide annually, the Segafredo brand claims to be the Italian market leader and the leading espresso company worldwide. Disney has been criticised in the past for the perceived poor quality of its Nescafé coffee by fans and frequent visitors, who will now be hoping the dropping of this Nestlé brand brings a better-tasting cup to the parks. No changes to the coffee being served have been reported yet, but if your next café tastes more like a real caffè, do let us know!

The sole remaining arm of Nestlé on the list of Official Partners is now Nestlé Waters, suppliers of Vittel and Perrier branded water to the parks. The Swiss corporation was originally one of the most important partners at the opening of the resort. It was largely replaced by Unilever in 2007, the British-Dutch multinational which brought popular brands such as Ben & Jerry’s and Miko ice creams to the resort.

In other beverage-related news, the standard prices for drinks at counter and quick service restaurants increased slightly last month to €2.60 for soft drinks (previously €2.50), €2.20 for hot drinks (previously €2.00) and €2.75 for hot drinks with cream (previously €2.50).

Tada:

After a 5-year relationship between 2002 and 2007, during which time the company sponsored Moteurs… Action! Stunt Show Spectacular, German car manufacturer Opel has returned to Disneyland Paris as its official vehicle partner. There’s no comment yet whether the General Motors subsidiary could return to sponsor the Backlot stunt show, but it will certainly make its presence known across the resort — if only for backstage Cast Members. As part of the two-year agreement announced on 7th November, Opel France will replace the resort’s entire fleet of cars with brand new, more environmentally-friendly models such as the Opel Movano, Opel Vivaro and Opel Combo. One vehicle whose presence won’t be felt quite so much is the striking all-electric Opel Ampera (the European version of the Chevrolet Volt), a fleet of which Disneyland Paris will take delivery of for backstage duties in January 2012 — one of the first companies in Europe to do so. The entire fleet will also be fitted with Opel’s latest CO² reduction technologies “ecoFLEX”and “Start/Stop”.
The resort’s previous vehicle partner, Ford, ended its three-year partnership in early 2010. During that time it was the official sponsor of Autopia, helping some new investment at the Discoveryland attraction with a new marquee and photo location. Since Opel has only signed for two years, a sponsorship of either motor-based attraction seems unlikely. Now, Disneyland Paris will ironically be replacing its fleet of backstage support vehicles with electric cars while this “highway of the future” continues to belch out petrol fumes. Only Hong Kong Disneyland currently operates electric cars on the attraction.
