When I talk about Cars Land, people often ask me which of our three new attractions is my favorite. That is an impossible question to answer! I love them all and for different reasons. Recently we began ride testing Luigi’s Flying Tires and it is promising to be a fantastic experience. There’s nothing like it anywhere in the world.

The vehicles have been made to look like oversized Fettuccini brand tires – the same tires Luigi proudly displays in his shop, Luigi’s Casa della Tires. Once guests are seated inside their tires, Luigi will direct Guido to turn on the air compressor. With that command, air will be pumped up through openings in the floor of the tire yard and the vehicles will begin to float and fly. With Luigi’s Flying Tires, the guest is really in control of the vehicle. By shifting your weight around, you can control the direction of your travel. And if that’s not enough fun, you can always turn a lever and make your tire spin!

John Lasseter recently stopped by to visit with the team and to take a tire for a flight and, as you can see in our video, he has quickly become one of our best flyers. The Imagineer is who is riding with John and giving flying directions is Mike Kilbert, our lead ride engineer and designer for the attraction. Also, John’s son Bennet and Ben’s girlfriend Holly were there and got a chance to try their hand at it – they’re pretty good for a couple of novices! I think you can tell by John’s reaction that he thinks we’ve got a winner on our hands. I couldn’t agree more!

Zomer 2012 krijgt California Adventure een Mad T Party, met de characters van Tim Burtons Alice:

Yesterday Disney officially announced that guests will be able to experience an all-new nighttime family celebration at their Disney’s California Adventure theme park, when Mad T Party starts to stir up fun in summer 2012!

This new psychedelic soiree will be filled with surprises and new takes on some familiar characters from the world of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.

Throughout the Mad T Party, Disney will “tip their hats” to the world of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland with wild and fabulous imagery and imagination. Familiar faces will be re-imagined in fresh, new ways, all combining to immerse guests in a captivating world that’s filled with exclusive signature foods, beverages and merchandise offerings.

So get ready to step through the rabbit hole and into Mad T Party at Disney California Adventure park, coming summer 2012!

Dat is heel mooi, dan moet het ons lukken om het van de zomer te bezoeken!!

Op de 11e verjaardag van het California Adventure Park werd er bekend gemaakt dat er enkele naamsveranderingen gaan plaatsvinden. Zo zal het park worden onderverdeeld in 8 landen:

•a bug’s land
•Buena Vista Street
•Cars Land
•Condor Flats
•Grizzly Peak
•Hollywood Land
•Pacific Wharf
•Paradise Pier

Er zijn dus 2 totaal nieuwe, nl "Buena Vista Street" (de vernieuwde entree) en "Cars Land".

"Hollywood Pictures Backlot" zal veranderen in "Hollywood Land" en "The Golden State" zal gesplitst worden in "Condor Flats" en "Grizzly Peak".

Bij het binnenstappen van Cars Land is de eerste attractie die je ziet "Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree". Op het volgende filmpje zie je hoe Larry the Cable Guy (stem van Mater) wat liedjes inzingt voor deze attractie:

Hier wat concept arts van de winkeltjes in Carsland:



Op de eerste foto zie je Radiator Springs Curios, zal vooral verzamel dingetjes verkopen zoals Pins, Vinylmation. Natuurlijk allemaal Carsgerelateerd. je kan er ook terecht voor antennatoppers, nummerplaten, autostickers, enz.



Hier zie je Ramone’s House of Body Art. Dit gaat meer een kledingwinkel worden met tshirts, petten, en allerlei accessoires.



Als laatste hebben we Sarge’s Surplus Hut. Dit wordt een Carsemporium! Je zal er oa kinderkledij, kostuums, speelgoed en plushes kunnen kopen, allemaal in het Carsthema.
