Nog wat foto's van de WDW Marathon weekend van januari 2016.
Benieuwd wat het parcours was? Op de foto's staat 2013, maar het is niet veranderd. Alleen 10K is veranderd. Marathon 5K, dat is 3.1 mijl Halve Marathon
Dit vond ik nog wel heel erg tof! Tijdens het parcours kon je op de foto met de Malefide als draak, uit de parade!

Vandaag is de Star Wars Half Marathon weekend begonnen! (De Expo is vanaf 14-1 geopend, de eerst race is op 15-1)
15-1 5K om 5:30
16-1 10K om 5:30, en om 10:00 de kidsrace (100-400-600m)
17-1 Halve marathon om 05:30 Star Wars Rebel Challenge
Wanneer je de halve Marathon uitloopt en de 10K, krijg je een extra medaille.

Leuke Outfits bij het Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend
De runDisney events zijn vaak ook een bijeenkomst van leuke en grappige kostuums . En bij het Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend was dit niet anders . Tussen de vele deelnemers zaten heel wat leuke kostuum creaties . Disney Parks Blog maakte een heel mooi overzicht van de leukste creaties .
Ik vond dit wel een leuk filmpje. De Point of view van een toeschouwer!
Extra motivatie voor mijzelf: heel veel mensen zie ik op een langzamer tempo rennen/lopen dan wat ik zelf loop. Dus moet goed komen in september

Leuke foto's! Deze merchandise is wel niet echt mijn ding (behalve het grijze "run, princess, run"- topje). Ik vond de shirts van Star Wars leuker. Maar dat is persoonlijk uiteraard.

Vr 19 feb: 11:00 Kids races
Za 20 feb: 05:30 Enchanted 10K in Epcot
Zo 21 feb: 05:30 Princess Half Marathon Epcot
Mogelijk om bij te boeken was een Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend Breakfast, Pasta in the Park Party of Happily ever After Party at Disney Springs.

Your Princess Half Marathon begins just outside Epcot® and continues on to Cinderella Castle inside the Magic Kingdom® Park. Be sure to wave to the Disney Princesses who will be lining the course and cheering you on your way. After a run through Magic Kingdom Park, you’ll make your way back to Epcot® along World Drive. After a trip past Spaceship Earth and out to World Showcase, you will complete your fairytale run with a finish line crowd cheering you down the home stretch! Exciting music and the presence of Disney princesses make for a storybook ending to an incredible half marathon.

Eerste Run Disney in Tokio?
Tokyo DisneySea will be hosting a special “Disney Fun & Run” event on May 5th, 2016 to celebrate Children’s Day in Japan. This special event invites parents and elementary school children to enjoy a fun atmosphere while running through the 7 ports at Tokyo DisneySea in this 2KM run. Tickets for this event will be sold via a lottery, which is only open to Japanese residents, with lottery sign ups being available from February 15th to the 24th, with tickets then sold through Disney’s E-Ticket website.
The course will begin in the Mediterranean Harbor and the finish line is at the American Waterfront, the run is expected to last about 40 minutes.

Runners 2 Pair Set (Parent and child): ¥30,000
Support Person: ¥9000 per person
The runner 2 pair set is a max of 2 persons, which consists of a parent or guardian (16 years and older) and elementary school child (¥30,000). They can bring up to 2 more people who are on the sidelines to “cheer” on the runners (¥9000 each).
These prices include a park ticket for the day

Our friends at Star Wars agree the runDisney Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side medals are most impressive! Our inaugural race weekend kicks off April 14 – 17, 2016 at Walt Disney World Resort. Participants will run on Darth Vader’s turf with the Emperor’s white uniformed stormtroopers making sure you stay on course in order to earn these medals.
